Nestled in Hockley Heath is a stunning venue called Nuthurst Grange. There’s plenty here to photograph and when Sian & Phil asked if I would snap their wedding, I jumped at the chance – gorgeous gardens, stunning decor, fantastic features and in the summer – what’s not to love? HOW DID YOU MEET?
We knew each other from school. Phil was a couple of years above me. We were Facebook friends and did a lot of ‘liking’ and commenting on statuses before I took the plunge and sent him a message!
WHERE DID YOU GO ON YOUR FIRST DATE? HOW DID IT GO!?
We had planned a lovely meal in Birmingham. Classy restaurant and sophisticated cocktails on a weekend. We ended up going to a Wetherspoons on a Wednesday and getting very drunk.
TALK ME THROUGH THE WEDDING PROPOSAL !?
He proposed after three years on Christmas Day. I got a pair of trainers and a diamond ring. Not bad!
WHY DID YOU CHOOSE YOUR WEDDING VENUE?
It was the first venue we viewed and we didn’t view any others after that! The decor was to our taste and we liked how the day was split up in to different areas of the hotel.
WHAT WAS YOUR FAVOURITE MOMENT OR MEMORY OF YOUR WEDDING DAY?
Getting ready with the girls in the morning – I haven’t laughed so hard.
The end of the night (no, not that!) Just chatting to Phil about how wonderful our day was.
WHAT ADVICE WOULD YOU GIVE TO NEWLY ENGAGED COUPLES?
Enjoy the planning! It shouldn’t be stressful and if it is then change up how you are organising it and putting things together.
HOW DID I DO AND HOW WERE YOUR IMAGES?
You were amazing! You were like one of the guests. People still talk about you now and how at ease you made them feel. The images were beautiful. The perfect mix of posed shots and those natural images we like.
OTHER SUPPLIERS THAT DESERVE A SHOUT OUT?
Design Elegance saved us when our previous venue designers let us down and ran off with our money! We actually think it was meant to be because Design Elegance dressed the venue a whole lot better!
